What I Have Learned In 2020

We are keep learning the lessons in our lives again and again until we really master them. One of the best way to reduce the times we learn again a lesson is reflecting. We should do it as frequently as possible, maybe everyday, every week, every month… To be honest I’m not so good at it, that’s why I’m doing it at the last day of the year.

I was about to write this to my diary but I also want to share with you what I’ve learned, and they’re not neccessary what I’ve mastered.

Here is my biggest lessons in 2020.

  1. Being myself and getting in touch with my gifts: I got fire of a Yoga studio I was teaching because I refused to teach in their way. Well, I’m not rich or even stable now but I got rewarded by having some loyal students that they really like me. I’m getting more and more connected to myself by choosing not to compromise myself in any case.  I have become more aware of my inner gifts and feel so alive with great joy whenever, wherever and with whomever I share these gifts
  2. Being aware and serene to see the truth: I’m trying to mention about Vipassana. I did 5 courses in India and experienced the powerful benefits from that until I stop doing it regularly. That leads me to the next lesson.
  3. Being disciplined and consistent. The more disciplined I am, the more my mind can be stretched. This is actually the lesson my teacher always told us in my ATTC last 2 years but I’m still need to keep learning it until now.
  4. Do my best in any circumstances: Sometimes I didn’t put 100% of my energy to my work because I don’t earn much. But there’re many times I do my best even I don’t get any paid. And the results are clearly different that I always have joy when I do something 100% while the others are not.
  5. Treat others like you would never see them again: There were many times I regret that I should have been nicer to someone but it was always too late. I also wrote about Bơ in the previous post. That was a painful lesson but I will keep remembering it so that I don’t need to be regretted anymore.
  6. Choosing love not fear: Love is something makes me more myself. Whenever my choice bases on fear, it’s so painful in my heart and it lead me to many other worse circumstances.
  7. Enjoy every single moment of my life: I have watched a movie named Soul few days ago and I really like the lesson from there. It’s not so new but the lesson we always forget (Maybe not you). A music teacher who longs to be a jazz musician. It follows Joe as the down-on-his-luck music teacher gets a big break at a jazz club. As he prepares for the gig, his life is cut shockingly short. We watch as Joe, who wants nothing more than to get his life back to live out his dream, is paired with a bratty “unborn” soul who has the ability to go to Earth but doesn’t want to take the trip because she can’t see the point in living. Overall, the film has a positive message about not taking your life for granted. “Soul” reminds us that, instead of only pursuing a dream, purpose can also be about slowing down and enjoying the simple things life has to offer, whether that’s the feeling of your toes in the sand or taking a bite of your favorite pie.
